Plans are already underway for the World War I centenary commemorations, which will run from 2014-2018.

The New Zealand WW100 website, a hub for the commemorations, includes a wealth of information about the formal projects and activities planned by the New Zealand Government, such as the National War Memorial Park in Wellington. It also includes details on how the public and institutions can get involved.

news page gives up to date information about the progress of projects, whilst the New Zealand At War Timeline provides an interactive way for people to find out more about New Zealand's involvement in the war.

There is also a WW100 Facebook page, which currently features a photograph of the Auckland NZ Army Recruitment Station (by Henry Winkelmann) from the Auckland Libraries heritage collections (see below).

    1. I could not dig
      I dared not rob
Therefore I lied to please the mob
And when my lies were proved untrue
How could I face the men I slew
What tales shall serve me here among
      Mine angry and defrauded young
